Instructions to download and install the RealPlayer

Note: it may be useful for you to print these instructions or

have them available on your desktop to read along.

 

STEP ONE

Click here to download the RealPlayer and then follow these instructions:

 

STEP TWO

Follow these instructions for all the prompts during the installation:

 

Do you want to run or save this file?

select RUN

 

Do you want to run this software?

select RUN

 

Preparing to install RealPlayer...

 

Welcome screen and agreement...

select ACCEPT

 

Internet connection speed:

select DSL/Cable 768 Kbps if you have Broadband

 OR

select 56kbps if you have a dial-up modem or

select NEXT

 

Program location and desktop settings

leave the program location as the default

uncheck the box for desktop shortcut for free games and music

select NEXT

 

Preparing installation and copying files...

 

Default media player settings:

If you want RealPlayer to play your music and video files,

go ahead and leave the default settings and select FINISH

If you don't want RealPlayer to be the default application for music and video,

simply deselect all the items and then select FINISH

 

Weather Channel, Google Toolbar or other...

Simply unselect any choices and boxes and select CONTINUE

 

Premium/Basic setup:

Do NOT select Premium setup unless you want the premium features and

want to pay a monthly fee on-going for those features.

Select BASIC Set-Up and select CONTINUE

 

Sign-In...

If you've never registered with RealPlayer before, select the Click Here option

Only enter in your email address, pick a password and enter a zip code. 

Uncheck ALL of the desktop message choices.

select CREATE

 

RealPlayer will now launch with an initial audio message and a web page. 

 

STEP THREE

Complete the following to complete your RealPlayer installation:

 

From the top menu,

select Tools and then Preferences

 

On left side, select General (should be there by default), then on right side select On startup display:

change it to Player only (no Media Browser)

 

On left side, select General - Playback Settings, then on right side uncheck the Enable TurboPlay box

 

On left side, select Automatic Services, then on right side select Configure Message Center

uncheck the following: Check for new messages, Show message headline, and

Show Message Center in System Tray,

then select OK and then YES on the warning message

 

Exit the RealPlayer

Exit the Message Center popup

 

You're done! 

Now the RealPlayer won't give any annoying messages or annoying browser pages when you start up. 

You're ready to enjoy the sermons now!
